Magento development for catalogs that have to ship

Hire Magento developers who still run live Magento 2 catalogs. Custom code, Hyvä when the frontend is the bottleneck, and a support retainer. We are a Magento development company — not Adobe customer care, and not a module store.

Magento Open Source vs Adobe Commerce

Both are in scope when the catalog is a fit. The work is the same shape either way: custom Magento development against your rules, not a certified-partner slide deck.

Magento Open Source compared with Adobe Commerce for the work Chicago Web actually takes
DecisionMagento Open SourceAdobe Commerce
LicenseNo Adobe Commerce license. Most catalogs we still run live here. You already bought the B2B suite. We will not sell you the license.
Catalog & checkoutCustom modules against your rules: configurables, price lists, multi-store.Same shape of work. Native B2B only when that is why you licensed it.
FrontendLuma, a custom theme, or Hyvä when the default stack is the bottleneck.Same choice. Hyvä is not automatic and not a marketplace preset.
HostingWe host Magento Open Source from $199/month on our managed stack. We can host Commerce on our stack. Adobe Commerce Cloud is Adobe’s contract.
Who answersA Magento developer on a retainer. Not a helpdesk ticket.Still us. We are not Adobe customer care and we do not publish their phone tree.

Hosting is a different page. If you only need the box, see managed Magento hosting from $199/month. If you need the code and the box, say so — we will not quote them as one blurry line item.

What we actually write

  • Catalog rules that have to match the floor

Configurable products, B2B price lists, company accounts, and the SKU rules a manufacturer already runs in the warehouse. Written as a service, upgrade-safe enough to patch later.

  • Checkout, inventory, multi-store

When they are real constraints — not a feature checklist. Hyvä when Luma is why the category page is slow. Magento ERP integration and stock feeds live on /integrations/.

  • Support after launch

Patches, upgrades, and the Monday morning catalog problem. A retainer, not a Magento customer-service ticket.

Questions

Are you Adobe customer care or Magento customer service?
No. Chicago Web is a Magento development company. We write Magento 2 code, Hyvä storefronts, integrations, and support retainers. We are not Adobe’s helpdesk and we do not publish a Magento customer service number.
Do you sell Magento extensions?
Not on chicagoweb.com. Magento extensions are sold at toweringmedia.com. Chicago Web does Magento development as a service: builds, Hyvä, support, and hosting.
Will you still take Magento 2 work?
Yes. Custom Magento development, catalog and checkout work, Magento ERP integration, performance, Hyvä, and managed Magento hosting. Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce are both in scope when the catalog is a fit.
What is Hyvä, and do you build it?
Hyvä is a Magento 2 frontend that replaces the heavy default theme stack. We build and maintain Hyvä storefronts as part of Magento development. It is a section of this work, not a separate product page.
Can I hire Magento developers on a retainer?
Yes. Most Magento catalogs we run stay on a support retainer after launch: patches, upgrades, catalog changes, and the next feature. Call (773) 466-2454 or send the form. Hours are 9–5 CST.
Do you do Magento ERP integration?
Yes — Magento to the ERP, warehouse, or EDI stack you already run. We are not an ERP vendor. The integrations page covers WMS, EDI, and manufacturing ERP in more depth.
