Shopify agency
Shopify development for stores that outgrew a theme
Custom themes, checkout-adjacent builds, and the apps and systems around the store. Magento stays a first-class option when it is the better box. National Shopify work, Chicago hours.
A fit
- A live Shopify store that has outgrown Dawn, a marketplace theme, or a pile of apps.
- A Magento or WooCommerce catalog that should move — with redirects, not a CSV dump.
- Checkout, shipping, or inventory rules the App Store only half-covers.
- Shopify that has to talk to QuickBooks, a warehouse, or a 3PL.
Not a fit
- Buying a Magento module. Those are sold at toweringmedia.com, not here.
- A Shopify Inc. partner-directory listing. That is a different search.
- A template with the logo swapped and a promise we will “do SEO later.”
- A store that should stay on Magento. We will say so.
Shopify development
What we actually build
Theme from a real design, checkout-adjacent logic, and Shopify that talks to the systems around the store. The work is written down before we start.
01
Theme work from a real design
Figma when the brand matters, then Liquid and sections built to that design. Merchandising, collection architecture, and the mobile checkout path get reviewed before we argue about a hero video.
02
Checkout-adjacent logic and app wiring
Shipping rules, plus-only checkout extensions when the plan needs them, and the apps you already pay for — wired, not stacked. When an app is the problem, we say so before we add another subscription.
03
Shopify that talks to QuickBooks, warehouse, 3PL
Same integration honesty as Magento: we connect systems you already paid for. APIs, webhooks, and an honest map of what Shopify will not do natively.
Magento or Woo onto Shopify
Products, customers, orders, and a 301 map for every URL that earned traffic. Passwords usually do not come across. We will not launch on a new path structure and fix SEO later. How that job runs is on /migrations/.
USA Knife Maker, Double U, Blackwing Meats, Dessert Lady, Cottage Craft — that is the shape of catalog we assess. Those stores are Magento. They are not Shopify case studies.
Stay on Magento when that is the call
Magento is the usual stack. Shopify is supporting. If the catalog, B2B price lists, or warehouse rules belong on Magento, we will say so and point you to Magento development.
Questions
- What Shopify development does Chicago Web take on?
- Theme work from a real design, checkout-adjacent logic, app wiring, and the catalog or inventory problems that show up after a few hundred SKUs. We are a Shopify agency and Shopify development shop — not a theme-marketplace reseller and not a Shopify Inc. partner directory.
- Can you migrate Magento or WooCommerce to Shopify?
- Yes. Products, customers, orders, and a redirect map. We will also say so if staying on Magento is the cheaper, safer job. The move itself is documented on /migrations/.
- Do you integrate Shopify with QuickBooks or a warehouse?
- Yes, when the store has to match accounting or the floor. That is custom software on the Shopify side — Admin API, webhooks, and the same integration work we do on Magento. See /integrations/.
- Are you a Shopify Plus Partner?
- We do not sell a Plus badge. Shopify Plus work is in scope when the catalog and checkout need it. If you need a certified Plus Partner listing, say so on the first call and we will tell you whether we are the right shop.
- When should we stay on Magento instead of Shopify?
- When the catalog, B2B pricing, or ERP already fit Magento and the pain is operations, not the platform. Shopify development is the right hire when the storefront and app stack are the constraint. We run both; we will not talk you off Magento to fill a Shopify pipeline.
