Ads and link dumps are marked spam and stay recoverable. Real comments can be approved. If the classifier is unsure or down, the comment stays pending. Porter does not empty the trash for you.
Most comment filters only watch the discussion thread. That is a real job — Akismet, Antispam Bee, and CleanTalk already cover it for a lot of sites — but the mailbox next to the site is a second door. A manufacturer or catalog operator still gets link-dump comments and, separately, a cPanel inbox full of pitches that someone then forwards to sales. The forward is the part that fails: the signature no longer matches, and the real lead lands in junk.

What Porter is not
It is not a Magento extension. It is not an SMTP plugin, a captcha, or a form builder. It does not claim a global spam database or a published accuracy rate — we have not published those numbers. It does not replace WordPress development or WordPress hosting. Those are services. Porter is software you install.
